(IRON MOUNTAIN, MI.)–The Iron Mountain VA Medical Center, in partnership with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), is adding transportation services for Veterans in Dickinson County and the surrounding area, including Iron River, Crystal Falls, Florence, Niagara, Aurora, and Pembine. This new service provides area Veterans with round trip transportation from one of the many pick up locations to their VA appointments at the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center beginning January 16, 2018. It is the latest addition to the medical center’s Veterans Transportation Network, which includes eight other DAV van routes across the UP and northern Wisconsin. ride. “For years we have provided transportation for Veterans that live farther away, such as Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie, but there is also a need for those Veterans that live closer,” said Katie Maxon, the medical center’s Chief of Voluntary Services.
