[Marinette, WI] – Two boat landings on the Menominee River will be temporarily closed for safety and security purposes for the launching of the LCS-21 on June 15, 2019. The affected landings are Boom Landing in Marinette and River Park (Mystery Ship) ramp in Menominee, MI. Other boat landings downriver of the launch site will be unaffected.
Boat landings will be closed from midnight on Friday, June 14, 2019 until approximately 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Additionally, all boats, including kayaks and canoes, will be barred from the marine safety zone established by the US Coast Guard on June 15th from approximately 10 a.m. to noon. This area is from approximately Nestegg Marine downriver to the east end of KK Integrated Logistics’ dock wall.
Boaters in the area should use caution and pay attention to directions from law enforcement and Coast Guard personnel. Due to unusually high water levels, spectators on the Menominee, MI side of the river should exercise caution when the boat is launched as the resulting wave could sweep that side of the river bank.
