A plane crash Monday night just east of K.I. Sawyer Airport leaves two uninjured. According to the MSP-Negaunee Post shortly after 8:30pm, troopers responded to a plane down 5 miles east of Sawyer International on Co Rd 545 near Falstead road. The two occupants, a 48 year old male and his 8 year old son were located outside the plane uninjured. The pilot advised authorities he lost power while in flight and had to make an emergency landing, but overshot the field he was aiming for. The plane landed on Co Rd 545 before veering off the road and striking some trees. The plane was towed from the scene to a hangar at Sawyer International for inspection by FAA officials.
