IRON MOUNTAIN, MI: Veterans Day 2023 marked the 20th anniversary of My
HealtheVet. As the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ online patient portal, My
HealtheVet has become a crucial part of VA care, with more than 6 million users
connecting over the past two decades.
My HealtheVet’s online resources and tools offer Veterans, active-duty service
members, and their dependents and caregivers greater control over their VA care.
Using My HealtheVet, Veterans can:
View, download, or print information from their VA medical records.
Refill VA prescriptions, track their delivery, and view a list of their VA
prescriptions.
Exchange secure messages with their VA care team to ask nonurgent health
questions and send updates on their condition.
View, schedule, and cancel their VA care appointments, set up email reminders,
and join their video telehealth visits.
And more!
The top priority for VA is providing the soonest and best care for Veterans. My
HealtheVet supports this mission by offering Veterans convenient access to their VA
health information and VA care teams from wherever they are. This serves to extend
VA’s reach beyond the traditional office visit.
Having their VA health information at their fingertips empowers Veterans to understand
and manage their health journey. My HealtheVet has become an indispensable means
of communication, source of health information, and avenue for Veterans to take charge
of their health and wellness. Over these past 20 years, My HealtheVet has proven to be
key to strengthening the connection between Veterans and their VA care team.
