The voice that made Milwaukee famous has died. Bob Uecker died today at the age of 90. Following his playing career, he became a comedian opening for the likes of Don Rickles. He also was a scout for the Brewers until joining the radio booth in 1971 where he remained through the 2024 season. Beer commercials, a successful tv sitcom and movie roles such as major League and countless appearances on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, Uecker was a presence in our lives and was loyal to Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Even George Steinbrenner tried to hire him away from the Brewers. Rest in peace “Mr. Baseball”.
