Iron Mountain, MI – January 11, 2024 – For the 19th year, The John Fornetti Dental Center will be once again hosting “Dentistry from the Heart“. This annual event to be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, is an opportunity for which the public – as well as the entire Fornetti Dental Center team – look forward to on the calendar.
At this event, adults aged 18 and over can receive their choice of a cleaning, a filling, or an extraction at no out–of–pocket cost. For people who struggle to afford dental care, this day of free dental care is not just about addressing immediate dental issues, but also about reflecting compassion, improving overall health, and ensuring that people have access to the care they need.
“Our mission every day is to give people hope especially when they feel there is none,” said dental center owner, Dr. John Fornetti. “If you have ever experienced dental pain, you know it can be excruciating and distracting. And when it feels like it will not end or you do not have options, you can feel hopeless. There is no better way to fulfill that mission than to give back to those in our community and area who truly need it the most.”
Fornetti says the services provided can typically range from just over $100 to $400 and higher. While contending with higher prices on everyday living costs, individuals and families may sacrifice their dental health to ensure they can afford housing, groceries, and transportation needs. In past years, the dental center has served anywhere from 100-200 guests on this one day alone, which underscores the need for dental services for those who might otherwise go without vital care.
The program runs 8 am to 3 pm CST, and operates on a “first come, first serve” basis; there are no advance bookings for appointments. It is recommended that the public monitor the weather and dress accordingly in case the waiting line extends outside the building into the outdoor elements.
