MARQUETTE, Mich. | February 19, 2025 — UP Health System – Marquette (UPHS – Marquette) is pleased to announce the launch of its Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), providing structured, evidenced-based therapy for adults (18+) facing mental health challenges.
The IOP is designed for individuals experiencing mild to moderate psychiatric distress, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), social withdrawal, dual diagnostic substance use disorder and other mental health concerns. It offers group therapy sessions three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) in a supportive, structured environment. Patients receive care from a team of licensed therapists, social workers and medical providers.
The program serves individuals stepping down from inpatient care or those who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy. Patients must be referred by a physician and will undergo an initial assessment to determine eligibility.
Outpatient therapy goals may include:
Developing effective coping strategies
Improving communication skills
Building self-esteem and confidence
Addressing the root causes of mental health challenges
Better mental health begins with an assessment—a confidential conversation that provides important information to our medical and clinical teams who will make a plan of care recommendation. When you or a loved one has mental health or addiction concerns, it is important to find appropriate, effective care and begin the journey back to wellness.
The UPHS – Marquette Intensive Outpatient Program is located at the Medical Office Building at 1400 W. Washington St., Marquette, MI 49855. For more information, call 906.449.1359, or to find a provider, visit UPHealthSystem.com.
