The Art of Keeping Bees
Wild Rivers Interpretive Center, Forestry Drive, Florence, WI, USA
The next Outdoor Education program will be Tuesday, April 15 th at 6:00 pm in Florence featuring Gino Venditti, owner of Stag Farms, a local producer of honey and maple syrup since 2015. He was chosen for the 2022 Michigan Beekeeper of the Year Award in recognition of the work he’s done mentoring others, advocating on behalf of bees, and general stewardship of keeping bees. He is an active member in the Northwoods Beekeepers Club.
Gino will discuss why and how we keep bees domestically. A wide array of topics will be covered from how to get started keeping bees to why it matters with a little history sprinkled in.
Come learn about what is happening in the world of beekeeping today and even a little bit of how you can get involved. Lots of questions are encouraged, most will hopefully be answered and nobody will get stung.
This program starts at 6:00 pm in the lower level conference room at the Florence Natural Resource Center building located on the corner of US 2 and Highway 101/70 in Florence (5628 Forestry Drive).
You may attend in person, or sign up to attend virtually via a Zoom link by registering at www.ExploreFlorenceCounty.com. On the Events page click on this event and then click on “click here for virtual Zoom meeting link”.
The Florence County monthly Outdoor Education programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center and UW-Extension Florence County. This event is open to the public and free of charge.

He is 66 years old and 4 children and came here to the UP/Northern WI area and fell in love with the surroundings and bought a house and relocated. He has been a long time chef mainly out east, graduating from culinery school in 1978. His hobbies include hunting rocks and mushrooms, loves reading, enjoys all sports including the Packers, NY Rangers, Boston Redsox and the Uconn Huskies. Unfortunatly, Steve has fallen ill with no health insurance. With the help of his family and friends we are asking the community to come and support Steve, who has been cooking for us for years in this town. Thanks for any form of support! Much love, Steve Daivs, Family & Henry's!"
