Weight Restriction Update-4/14/2025

[Peshtigo, WI] – Effective Monday, April 21, 2025 at 7:00 am, seasonal weight restrictions for spring thaw will be
lifted on all Marinette County highways from County Trunk Highway X and southward. Town roads may still
have bans in effect so carriers should check with the respective town(s).
Weight restrictions are still in effect for all county highways north of County Trunk Highway X. Gross weight
restrictions under Wisconsin Statute No. 349.16 are as follows:
Axle Weight Limit:
One Axle – 6 Tons
Any Two Axles (Under 8 Feet Apart) – 10 Tons (5 Tons per Axle)
Permits to operate in excess of these limits will be granted for emergency situations only. Overweight/Oversize
permits can be obtained from the Highway Department in Peshtigo, or downloaded from the website at
http://www.marinettecounty.com/departments/highway/general-information/, in the Forms & Documents link.
Carriers are encouraged to suspend operations and contact the Marinette County Highway Department at (715)
582-3771 if visible road damage is encountered.
