The votes are in and the Dickinson County Board Of Commissioners will have a new look in 2025. Only Joe Stevens will be returning to his seat on the County Board. In District 2, Republican Kevin Sullivan defeated Democrat William Revord 1623-941. In District 3, Republican Dan Harrington defeated Democrat Sandy Lafave 2024-965. In District 5, incumbent Democrat John Daegner was defeated by Republican challenger Victoria Jakel 1794-1250. Pete Swanson ran unopposed in his district. School district referendums in the area all passed. The Norway-Vulcan Bond Proposal passed yes 1774 to 1108 no. The Florence Schools Operating Referendum question passed by a narrow margin 1597 yes to 1488 no. The Intermediate School District renewal passed easily 9633 yes to 4049 no. In the 110th District Representative race, incumbent Greg Markkanen defeated Democratic challenger Kim Corcoran in Dickinson County 7553 to 3449. He also won the other counties in his district to be returned to Lansing. In the 109th District, Republican Karl Bohnak is claiming victory over incumbent Jenn Hill 26,189 to 24,847 with just 1% of the vote yet to be tabulated. In the U.S. Senate race, Mike Rogers and Elissa Slotkin are involved in a tight race too close to call with a small handful of votes yet to be tabulated. In Wisconsin, Assemblyman Jeff Mursau and 7th District Congressman Tom Tiffany won their respective re-election bids. Winning seats on the Iron Mountain School Board were Darren Petchar, Jennifer Solka and James Carollo. Sara Grenier and Krystal Fayas won election to the North Dickinson School Board while Marybeth Langin, April VanEndye, Joey Pontbriand and Joesph Occhietti were elected to the Norway-Vulcan School Board. Election officials were pleased with the large voter turnout both in person and absentee voting.
